Duppies are invoked every one hundred years to bring darkness and death. They blackout after each kill and do not retain the memory of what they have done.
Duppies do not have Chi per se — they run on the energy of those who invoke them to kill and are essentially an "empty vessel".
These spirits of the dead are invoked with a Macuto.
Lisa Allan was a Duppy.
Duppy is a Jamaican Patois word of Northwest African origin meaning ghost or spirit. Much of Caribbean folklore revolves around duppies. Duppies are generally regarded as malevolent spirits. They are said to mostly come out and haunt people at night, and people from the islands claim to have seen them. In many of the islands of the Lesser Antilles, duppies are known as jumbies. Duppy folklore originates from West Africa.
