Farah Merani is a Canadian film director and producer; and theatre, television, and film actress.

Biography[]

Merani is a graduate of Trinity College, University of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and trained at the Drama Centre London, London, England, UK.

She founded Lifeguard Productions in 2011, is a co-founder of Women on Screen and its Short Film Incubator Series, and was an associate producer with the Blue Flame Collective on the 2013 Slate.[1] Merani serves as co-chair of the ACTRA Toronto Diversity Committee[2] and is a member of ACTRA Toronto Council.

Career[]

Television work includes action spy drama series Nikita in the episode "Wanted" (2013) as Priya; fantasy drama The Listener episode "Love's a Bitch" (2013) as Emily Parkhurst.

Film credits include Tamsin in the comedy romance Dirty Singles (2014); Passagere in the comedy drama short Entrain (2014); Anita in the drama short Just a Prayer (2013), also as writer and executive producer; Farah in the drama short Balloon Man (2011).

Just a Prayer was selected for the 2013 Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival, and the 2014 Women's Voices Now Film Festival in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Farah Merani played the role of Astrid, an Astomi, in the following episodes of Lost Girl:
