A Land Wight is a nature shapeshifter Fae .

Character arc

The Land Wight lives in harmony with a piece of land. It can become completely indistinguishable from the plants that it takes care of. It flourishes in an organic environment, and anything that grows in it becomes incredibly flavorful and brings prosperity to anyone who eats it.

A land wight secretes a digestive juice onto its victim to soften them up, and thereafter swallows the resulting mass. The product waste then becomes fertilizer for the plants that live on the land wight's territory.

Amy, the Head Chef at the Queensdale Country Club, was a Land Wight responsible for several deaths at the club.

Trivia

• Landvættir ("land wights") are spirits of the land in Norse mythology and in Germanic neopaganism. They protect and promote the flourishing of the specific places where they live, which can be as small as a rock or a corner of a field, or as large as a section of a country.

• They appear to have much in common with Lares.
