The Leviathan takes anyone that touches a sacred plot in a Fae burial ground down to Irkalla, the underworld and a realm that no one ever leaves.
It searched for six hundred years for the mark that was branded on Bo's chest by The Wanderer while she was on the Death Train. The mark was supposed to have been hers, but was kept from her.
The Leviathan will consider someone's request in exchange for a riddle. When she failed to correctly answer Bo's riddle, she returned Bo back to the Fae graveyard.
Its species is not known.

- In Jewish mythology, Leviathan is a primordial sea serpent. Its source is in prebiblical Mesopotamian myth, especially that of the sea monster in the Ugaritic myth of Baal.[1]
- In Babylonian mythology, Irkalla is the underworld from which there is no return. It is ruled by the goddess Ereshkigal and her consort, the death god Nergal. Irkalla had no punishment or reward, being seen as a more dreary version of life above. As the subterranean destination for all who die, Irkalla is similar to Sheol of the Hebrew Bible or Hades of classic Greek mythology.[2]
