On December 9, 2011, Showcase announced that Lost Girl had been renewed for Season 3, set to begin production in Summer 2012. 13 episodes aired in the spring of 2013.

Rachel Skarsten will join the cast as Dyson 's new partner Tamsin.

Apparently leaving the crew will be series creator Michele Lovretta . Instead writer Emily Andras will take over as showrunner. Lovretta is not listed in the Season 3 press release from Prodigy Pictures, which produces the show. Instead Andras joined original executive producer Jay Firestone. Season 3 is now to be aired January 2013.
